The Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Irvine, is seeking outstanding candidates to fill one tenure-track Assistant Professor position to start July 1, 2019. This position is in the area of Mathematical Biology and/or Biophysics and is in support of the recently-created NSF-Simons Center for Multiscale Cell Fate Research. The focus of the Center is in using quantitative methods to understand how cells combine to make functional tissues, organs or organisms, however candidates from all areas of mathematical biology and theoretical/computational biophysics are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will have significant opportunity for interdisciplinary interactions facilitated by the Departments of Mathematics, Physics & Astronomy, Developmental & Cell Biology, the School of Medicine, the Center for Complex Biological Systems, and Center for Cancer Systems Biology, among others.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and should have demonstrated excellence in research and teaching.

The review process starts November 15, 2018 and will continue until the positions are filled.
