Network Administrator

SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:

Provide all aspects of IT support for Scientific Research Vessels. Work both underway and in shoreside lab. Underway deployments can be extensive (multiple weeks). Onshore work includes an on-call rotation. Customer base includes research scientists, technicians, outreach personnel, and military personnel. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills and the ability to provide cheerful user support at a wide range of skill levels and interests.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):

Mandatory

• Certificate from an accredited Community or Technical College in Computer Science or related field
• Experience showing good communication, interpersonal, motivational, and organizational skills
• Two years Network Administrator experience
• SECRET Security Clearance
• U.S. Citizenship

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or Network Engineering
• Additional training in one or more leading network operating systems, network equipment, and network protocols
• Security+
• Four years of related experience
