The Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC seeks applicants for part-time, clinical track positions at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor of Dentistry in the Division of Dental Public Health and Pediatric Dentistry.
Responsibilities include providing direct patient care and clinical supervision of dental and dental hygiene students. Innovative aspects of this grant funded program include community outreach and being part of a case management team tasked with the recruitment of targeted adult patients into oral health preventive care programs. Candidates must have a BDH degree, and hold a current RDH license from the State of California. Those with additional education degrees (MS, MPH) and/or experience in public health, community dentistry, or community-based research are strongly encouraged to apply. I have 5 years of experience teaching undergraduate and graduate students, and have mentored several students in their research projects.
We, clinical assistant professors, teach the academic courses and attend the faculty meetings regularly. We participate in the review processes of the department and make proposed changes. We work under the supervision of the programs’ deans and provide training to graduate students in evidence-based practices. We are responsible for overseeing the administrative task, providing leadership training, and participating in meetings and creating clinic policies. Moreover, we ensure to comply with APA accreditation standards and maintain the implementation of policies.
