Dow Jones, publisher of the world’s most trusted business news, is seeking an experienced double wide newspaper press operator at our printing center located in Highland, IL – 45 minutes east of St. Louis, MO. This is a full time opportunity with benefits including holiday pay, vacation pay, a 35 hour workweek with overtime thereafter. Evening shift Sunday – Friday.
The position involves the preparation, layout, operation and maintenance of newspaper printing presses and related processing and packaging equipment. Duties include setting and maintaining a balance of ink and water, registration of printing, operating ABB ink setting controls, and operating press folders, as well as handling, preparing and loading paper on the press, preparation of pasters, preparing the reel room report, and related duties.
The press operator is responsible for producing high quality printed copies of The Wall Street Journal and other print publications in an efficient and timely way.
The ideal candidate must be willing to work as part of a team to produce consistent quality of reproduction, to meet dispatch schedules, and to maintain an efficient and cost effective operation.
Requires lifting >50 lbs., standing, bending, and physical activity throughout the shift.
