The role of the Director, Business Operations is to plan and execute high priority initiatives for the Oncology Service Line and Cancer Center leadership. The Director will work with leadership in the planning, development and implementation of business plans for key programs and service offerings. Initiatives include but are not limited to development of luminary programs, implementation of strategic plans, operational efficiencies, clinical expansion of services and patient experience.

The incumbent will also be responsible for the administration and management of the operations of the administrative support staff of the Cancer Center, including developing and implementing a team structure, managing all Human Resource functions, and developing and implementing standards, policies, and processes ensure the effective and efficient operation of administrative support staff.

The Director supervises the following positions:

2 Sr. Project Managers, Oncology Clinical Operations
Sr. Manager, Business Operations over the Director’s Office
15 Cancer Center administrative staff providing support to Faculty Investigators and Staff Leaders.

The Director reports to the Associate VP/Chief Administrative Officer of UHealth Oncology Services/ Sylvester and to the Associate Director of Research Administration as it pertains to the management of the Cancer Center administrative support staff personnel.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field. Master’s Degree and Six Sigma Lean training preferred.

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Ability to manage a budget and work within the constraints of that budget.
Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office)
