Position Description
Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in the Transient Kinetics Analysis Group. The candidate will work with team members to develop custom-built laser-based optical systems for time-resolved Raman, IR and UV-Vis studies of heterogeneous catalysts in high temperature gas environments. Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas is desired: the use of linear and/or nonlinear optical techniques with high time resolution, pump-probe spectroscopy and/or ultrafast dynamics. Experience in characterization of metal oxide materials is desired, experience in catalysis is advantageous but not required. Candidate will be primarily a laboratory-based researcher, with other responsibilities such as the collection, interpretation, and publication of research data and results. Candidate will be required to interface with other researchers to develop new concepts and technologies.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• PhD requirements in analytical chemistry, physical chemistry or related disciplines must be completed by commencement of appointment and within the previous 5 years.
• Demonstrated oral and published written communication skills (in English).
• Developing publication record in the area of advanced spectroscopic materials characterization.
