Scout & Cellar is seeking a Chief Operating Officer with a strong technical, operational and strategic background. This pivotal role will report to and partner with the CEO to establish, plan, and execute on short and long-term business strategies for healthy business operations and growth. While this role is highly strategic, the successful candidate must be an experienced team builder, people motivator, and servant leader. The COO will provide leadership, coaching, and direction to the following teams: Technology, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Operations Compliance, and Human Resources. It will be imperative for this role to also ensure that all of the foregoing teams are in alignment with Leadership and in sync with Field, Marketing, Finance and Legal teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring plans for future growth.
  • Develop and translate growth strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth.
  • Implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning.
  • Directly responsible for the management and leadership of technology, customer service, HR and production and fulfillment operations.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring as a cornerstone to the Leadership team.
  • Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met.
  • Analyze internal operations, identify areas of process enhancement, seek out methods for reducing costs and increasing profits, improve control measures, and develop strategies to improve.
  • In partnership with Legal, ensure business operations and strategies are compliant with all local, state, federal, and international policies and regulations.
  • Oversee and drive strategy for workforce planning efforts and Human Resources initiatives including professional development, succession planning, onboarding, employee engagement, retention, performance management, and recrutiing.

What you must bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in executive leadership positions, ideally in e-Commerce, Retail, or Manufacturing industries.
  • Passion for leading teams through organizational change and high-growth while supporting customer-centric operations.
  • In-depth management experience of Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Human Resources; proven understanding of Finance & Accounting functions.
  • Flexible multi-tasker with experience in fast-paced, ambiguous environment that can drive change towards clarity, process and solutions; must instill a sense of urgency by example.
  • Collaborative and inspiring with management experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience driving positive collaboration and change between production, technology, sales, fulfillment and customer service.
  • Proven strategic thinker and problem solver regarding competitive strategy, process development and resource allocation.
  • Expertise in diagnosing problems quickly with foresight into potential solutions and how to execute.
  • Results driven, prioritizes business impact, and fosters accountability through process and culture.
  • Leads with integrity, authenticity and humility.
