Job Description

We are seeking a Structural Engineer for a growing company in West Phoenix, who is the leader in their industry. This a direct hire opportunity, with a lot of growth potential. You will use your engineering skills to optimize structural designs and make sure codes are being adhered to. You will create innovative and forward-thinking products from concept to completion. You will be a key contributor for the structural design solutions for products, components and projects. This would include analysis in the early stages of development, and supporting decisions for compliance to codes and standards, such as ASCE, UBC, IBC and ASTM. You could work directly with clients, mechanical engineering, marketing, sales, sourcing, and every level of the company.

This is a direct-hire opportunity, with full benefits and a generous PTO plan. You will be joining a highly collaborative team, and have the opportunity to use your creativity and see your product designs come to life. This position can be worked remotely from anywhere in the United States, with about 15% travel to an office location.

Ideal candidate: The ideal candidate would be used to using ASCE wind and snow loading calculations to properly size and/or review sized structural components.  Ideally this wind and snow loading would be completed on top of roofs (pitched residences or flat commercial).

Requirements: You must have a relevant Bachelors Degree in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering, and at least 5 years of experience in structural engineering with ASCE standards. PE designation is a plus. Solidworks and ANSYS is preferred, but structural design experience and knowledge of ASCE codes, along with as many of the following codes as possible, outweighs that need: IBC, UBC, ASTM, SEAOC, and related. Working knowledge of root cause / failure analysis for mechanical and structural systems needed, along with finite element analysis and experience performing load calculations and tests. Some travel will be required - both in the US and globally - so, you must be available for up to 25% travel.
