Department Overview

This role will be a part of fun and exciting QA team in Engineering and will work with brilliant engineers located around the U.S. with offices in Broomall, PA and San Francisco, CA. Team has QA engineers based out of our Broomall, PA and San Francisco, CA offices. We also work with an offshore QA team to complement our QA requirements.

 

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, creative, individual with experience in taking technical leadership driving a world-class. A strong candidate will be highly technical and have the ability to work in a fast paced and often chaotic environment. Senior QA Engineer plays a key role in a fast-paced environment to facilitate quality and efficient product development via test automation.

The candidate must be experienced with the open source technology and tools for test automation. This is an opportunity to be part of a team that builds highly interactive business applications that is used by many fortune 500 companies.

Senior QA Engineer will perform complex architectural analysis and programming activities, which may require extensive research. Senior QA Engineer will also be responsible for development and maintenance of Automation Framework at Aria.

Responsibilities

  • Understands software quality best practices, test strategy and planning, test case development, test case deployment and execution, test data, defect tracking, and test automation; actively participates in process improvements
  • Recognizes issues (e.g. with requirements, design, implementation, etc.) and works with appropriate resources to address and resolve
  • Mentors and trains other testers in the team
  • Test Complex Cloud Infrastructure and platform products that scales
  • Evaluate application architectures and design performance test plans
  • Establish performance test objectives, acceptance criteria, workload profiles and use case scenarios
  • Measure and analyze performance data (workload, system and application)
  • Work closely with development teams, architects and engineers to test their products under load and make recommendations to improve performance, reliability and stability
  • Provide technical coordination to the QA automation team to ensure minimal duplication of efforts through maximum reuse of defined solutions.
  • Expected to research and develop tools with the goal of increasing automation development quality and productivity
  • Responsible for ensuring that defined architectural and development standards are followed by all members of the automation team
  • Proficient at decomposing requirements and developing test automation for projects of simple to high complexity
  • Practices automation development efficiency, maintainability and reusability
  • Assist in managing and improving the automation coding standards
  • Develops scripts according to the coding standards
  • Provides accurate implementation level estimates and delivers on them
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
  • Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts

 

Qualifications: 

Education and Experience

 Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent Minimum 8+ years’ experience


Knowledge and Skills 

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in enterprise and large-scale internet-facing software quality, including 3 years as lead tester
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience with the following:
    • Open source and with the open source community
    • Agile development methodologies and SDLC processes
    • QA fundamentals (both white- and black-box testing, agile process)
    • Strong working experience on Web Services testing and automation
    • Deep knowledge on data base testing
    • Using Databases, Rest API's, Client libraries using different platform (PHP, JAVA etc)
    • Linux Commands
    • CI/CD with Jenkins
    • Coding for automation, without reliance on record and playback scripting
    • Evaluate application architectures and design performance test plans
    • Deep working knowledge of automated code coverage and static analysis software
    • High-volume, highly scalable applications.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience working with Selenium based automation frameworks
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Kafka and Mincroservices
  • A minimum of 4 year’s experience working on performance benchmarking and testing
  • Expert skills in one or more Performance and load testing tools (e.g. Jmeter, LoadRunner, SOAPUI, Microsoft Visual Studio, Selenium, etc.)

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Perl, JavaScript, Windows and Unix shell scripting
  • Strong desire to build, sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven results oriented person with a delivery focus and demonstrated ability to achieve in a highly innovative and fast paced environment.
