Medical Assistant Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Screening patients and staff for COVID-19, per office protocols
- Taking patient vitals
- Maintaining supplies in exam rooms in appropriate offices
- Assisting physicians in exam room with procedures, including HSGs, SONOs, etc.
- Infection Control
- Sterilization of surgical instruments (must be done daily – whoever is present in the respective office for that day)
- Autoclave Maintenance
- General Maintenance of exam rooms & turning exam rooms
- Ordering phlebotomy supplies from various Labs
- Checking daily messages, triaging, and sending ticklers to appropriate person
- Filing/Scanning blood tests in patient’s chart
- Phlebotomy
- Daily stock check of supplies in each office
- Checklists
- Cleaning and general maintenance of exam rooms after each patient
- Monitoring Equipment (Daily)
- Notifying manager of any items that need attention
- Weekend rotation and clinic coverage at other locations, as needed
