Senior Auditor - Public Accounting

We are in search or a Senior Auditor for our team in the Irvine office.

Looking for a self starter, proactive, multi-tasker, searching for a career in public accounting and wants to be part of a team.

The Senior Auditor will perform routine to moderately complex accounting work and supervise / coach junior staff.

You should have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, ability to meet deadlines, strong attention to detail, the ability to delegate work to staff and review such work, as well as the ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish assigned tasks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and oversee audits, reviews, compilations and other ad hoc assignments
• Perform research on technical issues
• Delegate responsibilities to staff
• Review team members’ work for accuracy and compliance
• Perform effective risk and control assessments
• Complete engagements on time
• Present engagement findings effectively to audit manager and/or client and find ways to increase compliance and efficiency
• In-depth understanding of auditing and accounting principles
• Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Experience with ProSystem Engagement is a plus

EDUCATION

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting, business or related field supplemented by three to five years of experience in a public accounting firm, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. CPA designation is preferred.
