Boston Architects & Builders Inc (BAB) is a growing Architect-Led Design-Build firm focused on sustainable residential projects ranging from additions, remodels, custom homes and multi-unit developments. WHO YOU ARE

You are an experienced dynamic project manager with an entrepreneurial spirit, with great leadership and people management skills, and with high proven proficiency, dedication and passion for the project manager role. You are also someone who thrives in helping build systems, processes and procedures for a growing boutique Architect-Led Design-Build (ALDB) firm (yes, that's a thing, check Wikipedia!)

You’re passionate about design, sustainability and the synergy between design and construction. You light up when you see a design become a physical reality, especially under your care. You are great at listening and taking instruction, but you also take responsibility and creatively fill in any gaps you find in projects under your care. You are not afraid to make suggestions, and you always want to learn from mistakes to avoid repeating them. You are bright, emotionally intelligent, and understand what motivates team members, and what helps them grow as they perform at a high level under your care. You’re able to say what needs to be said and do not avoid conflict, while also being respectful. You are able to communicate your expectations and follow through, gaining the respect of team members.

• Project Manager
  • Ultimately responsible for success of project
    • Complete on schedule and on budget
  • Self-starter but also works great in a team
  • Oversees several projects at a time
  • Maintains track of projected and actual costs
  • Maintains control of project schedule, when decisions and purchases have to be made
  • High ability to seamlessly liaise between BAB upper management and BAB team members
  • Responsible for coordinating between Architect/Consultants, Client, and Trade Forman or Business Owners, Site Supervisor and Regulatory Enforcement Officials, ensuring that:
    • Designs are finalized before they are built.
    • Required items and products are picked out and ordered before they are needed on site.
    • Bid requests are sent out, subcontractors are invited to view the site, bids are finalized and contracts are signed, and start dates orchestrated.
  • Should maintain a bird’s eye view of the project, with an eye for tracking the overall progress of the project along with maintaining completion schedule.
  • Must be comfortable and proficient in technological tools and apps
  • Outstanding communication skills (oral and written) is a must!
  • Flexible, adaptable, disciplined
  • High level of integrity
  • Comfortable in leading and taking direction
  • Experience running and managing construction projects is a must!
  • Ability to read architectural drawings is required
    • Architectural degree or experience is a plus
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification is a plus!
