Job Title:                                 Software Analyst

Reports to:                              Chief Quality Officer

Department:                           Admin

Hours Required:                     Non-Exempt, 40 hours per week Monday - Friday



Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Chief Quality Officer, the Software Analyst assists in quality improvement efforts including development, implementation, education, analysis of workflows, utilization management and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Software Analyst serves as the system and support specialist for ODHC’s electronic health record, practice management system, electronic dental record, and other electronic patient care applications. 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports existing and new software features on training, go-live, testing and enhancements as appropriate of software applications
  • Acts as the first point of contact for software support questions.
  • Plans, documents and executes features and functionality as per vendor requirements.
  • Conducts problem analysis and resolution for issues related to the software through the vendor support mechanisms.
  • Provides training to office Super Users on software functionality.
  • Coordinates priorities for projects and issue resolution for the software applications.
  • Support the development of quality improvement performance process to identify opportunities to improve patient experience, eliminate manual processes, and boost patient care outcomes
  • Collaborate, research, and propose electronic health record, practice management, and electronic dental record product solutions that efficiently meet the current and future business needs
  • Participation in UDS, MNCM, and ODHC strategic data collection
  • Assist in designing, running, managing, and data review process for assuring accuracy and integrity of health services data to meet regulatory and operational requirements
  • Develop and maintain knowledge base of applications including updates, enhancements, and customization
  • Partner with applicable stakeholders to encourage and foster staff skills and proficiency, by evaluating training effectiveness, and identifying gaps in learning
  • Use appropriate and approved communication tools to assist patients accurately and professionally in a variety of different languages
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree with 3+ years of information systems or closely related field experience
  • Strong communication skills with clinical and information technology personnel, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent leadership and teaching skills
  • Strong knowledge of physician practice and/or hospital business process
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology
  • Organized and knowledgeable in Continuous Quality Improvement
  • Experience working with a diverse population of people
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to form positive and collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of healthcare software applications (MS Office, Allscripts, etc)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Confidence, professional judgement, and grace under pressure
  • Bilingual skills are a plus

 

Other Requirements:

This position is non-exempt, 40 hours per week Monday through Friday. This position works remotely from a home office and occasional travel is required for meetings, events and to support all ODHC locations. Means of travel and travel expenses will be reimbursed according to ODHC’s travel policy. Position requires physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, repetitive use of fingers, hands, and wrists in job related duties, i.e. tools, computer. Complete range of motion, including fine motor skills and tactile sense of both hands. Able to lift 25 pounds. This document is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
