8492 Research Technician II

Duties:

This research associate contractor will work within the Virology group of Purification Development department. 

This person will be working with the scientists and engineers in the technology innovation team to purify virus and virus like particles, and characterize purified virus stock such as titers and aggregation state.

The purified virus stocks will be used in GMP validation studies to meet viral safety requirements for the Companys products.

This person will interact with members within Virology as well as others in Purification Development. 

Skills:

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, highly productive and comfortable working in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

A general understanding of protein purification techniques (e.g. chromatography) is strongly desired.

The candidate will be trained in execution of laboratory experiments and data analysis, but the ability to work independently with moderate to minimal guidance is required. 

The candidate should possess excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. 

The candidate will be working in a team environment and must be a strong team player. 

Education:

BS/MS in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field High scholastic achievement (include GPA on resume).

Some experience in research labs, internships, healthcare, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry.

Some experience with protein purification using AKTA, and PCR.
