Software Design Engineer in Test (SDET)

Koverse is looking for a meticulous SDET who will be part of a world-class team working to help customers realize the promise of big data and to contribute to and review the creation of designs for production software. The responsibilities include both software development and testing tasks and focuses on the testability, robustness, and performance of production software.

To be successful as an SDET, you should have excellent time management and organizational skills as well as strong communication skills. You should have a passion for designing, development, and testing and the ability to upgrade your technical skills within the constantly changing technology sector.

As an SDET you will:

  • Possess an understanding of the flow of code and how it interacts with different components.
  • Understand how to effectively address project documentation, customer demands, and product objectives to create and execute test cases.
  • Set up, maintain, and perform test automation frameworks on multiple application platforms, such as Desktop and Web, as well as build test scenarios and acceptance tests.
  • Investigate customer problems referred to you by the technical support team, including testing bugs, and creating and managing bug reports.
  • Handle technical communications with an understanding of the customers' systems.
  • Work with Devops and the development team, resolving level issues for systems, coordinating on product design, and offering inputs on the testability of functional elements and product designs.
  • Note all testing actions you have performed in daily and weekly reports.
  • Analyze and disintegrate software systems, coordinating with other teams to enhance the overall design.
  • Research test tools, methodologies, and trends and upgrade existing practices and processes.
  • Manage the final quality on production release.

We are looking for the following technical experience:

  • Knowledge of test methodologies and their corresponding tools
  • Exposure to Behavior Driven Development and experience in programming and testing
  • Understanding of Object Oriented design patterns
  • Robust experience with writing substantial software using Java
  • Familiarity with distributed systems like Hadoop, HBase/Accumulo, or Kafka
  • A deep understanding of indexing and search techniques
  • A good understanding of relational database concepts
  • The ability to recognize risks and errors in an application
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • The ability to keep current with the constantly changing technology industry
  • A passion for testing, development, and design

In addition you should have the following:

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer in test
  • Self-starter who can work as part of a partly-virtual team and remain motivated in a dynamic environment
  • BS in computer science, though an additional 4 years of experience may be substituted for a degree
