Junior Cost Accountant

Direct Marketing Solutions is a multi-channel direct marketing company specializing in direct mail & digital marketing. We are looking for an experienced Junior Cost Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team.

Position Overview

The Junior Cost Accountant tracks and analyzes job costs to assist with the company's closing cycles, prepares financial reports, and ensures compliance with GAAP.

Essential Functions

• Input costing transactions into job cost system
• Monitor job activity and initiate costing as appropriate
• Track and analyze job costs by various costing categories
• Communicate with account managers surrounding job activity
• Assist with client invoicing as needed
• Analyze customer profitability
• Maintain electronic job folders
• Track transactions and prepare reconciliations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with all regulations and policies, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA)

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist with Invoicing and Accounts Receivable functions
• Assist with special Accounting and Finance projects and tasks as needed
• Respond to data requests from auditors
• Facilitate timely and accurate receipt of financial data from other departments
• Complete annual IT security trainings
• Participate in business impact analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Two to four years related experience
• Working knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting processes and procedures
• General accounting ERP software and Excel experience
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Professional demeanor and desire to learn
• Manufacturing experience preferred
