A&D Workplace Manager-San Francisco

As a A&D Workplace Manager works primarily with the Architect & Design community, and the CRE community and end users in a geographically assigned territory to find and develop successful business opportunities by sharing insights, expertise and resources through each phase of the sales cycle. These opportunities will be the result of building/maintaining positive perceptions of Allsteel’s and the Manager’s thought leadership/knowledge resources, brand, products and services; building/maintaining strong relationships at every level of key A&D firms and other regional influencers, and through active participation in local/regional associations and their activities; and contributing to the development of solution positioning and selling strategies for those business opportunities.

A&D Workplace Managers will also contribute to the building and sharing of new/stronger internal capabilities and open source tools to successfully market to and service this audience.

Some of the essential aspects of the position include:

• Generate sales opportunities within the designated territory to support and maximize aggressive profitable growth. Develop, plan and execute sales and marketing strategies directed at mid to large commercial end users within designated region.
• Contribute to strategy and solution development in sales pursuits through strategic sharing/applications of Allsteel’s thought leadership and toolkit, application consulting, product positioning/competitive intelligence, and contributions to solution development/positioning. Drive account development and retention initiatives relative to workplace and product strategies within select significant accounts.
• Proactively gather business priorities, needs and preference insights from stakeholders and A&D or other influencers to inform Allsteel/Dealer’s overall strategy to a given opportunity; and to inform the nature of interactions and interventions this role will contribute.
• Lead customer/A&D requests for strategy and contribute to design support strategies to develop relevant needs-based solutions. This may include providing direction and oversight of workplace strategy exploration or development, the application of frameworks or tools, the development of planning methodologies or product applications—i.e., new schematic level typicals, standards or kit-of-parts solutions.
• Maintain working knowledge of product positioning and their related workplace theories/POVs relevant to our recommendations.
• Contribute to the periodic sharing of new learning and possible product enhancements/updates between team and with Product Development, Design Support Services and the Tailored Products group.
• Mentor territory/regional team(s) to be comfortably conversant in workplace strategy discussions and competitive positioning.
• Lead as thought leader/knowledge resource and mentor to A&D, CRE and other external influencers to help A&D and customers reframe their understanding of and capabilities to develop/execute workplace strategies.
• Build/maintain strong presence in local/regional A&D firm offices and the larger workplace-making community: being actively involved in associations and in delivering educational content /speaking at regional events.

What it takes:

• Bachelor’s Degree Required, MBA preferred
• 5 years or more experience working with A&D Firms
