COST ESTIMATOR/ MACHINE SHOP
We are looking for an Estimator who will be responsible for estimating/forecasting project costs for incoming RFQ's by gathering details and compiling data to estimate all manufacturing costs according to specifications, working closely with the Mold makers, Engineering and Quality Teams. Estimates will consider raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, outside services and transportation. As well as determining necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints. Based on costing information gathered, the Estimator will build and submit quotes and proposals to our customers. The estimator should have machining experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
*Full knowledge of DIBBS and or gov't bidding sites
*Review customers RFQs and understand the project/program and its requirements
*Must work with Engineering/Production/Quality to validate we have the capabilities to build the parts or if they should be outsourced to one of our machining partners.
*Determine key variables for cost and other estimates
*Gather first-hand information from sites, warehouses or other venues
*Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc.
*Use software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting
*Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
*Perform risk analysis and interface with Production, Supply Chain and Quality Teams to ensure all factors are considered with regards to capacity planning, so the customer is quoted accurate lead times for manufacturing.
* Create and submit estimate reports or formal bids/quotes to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, bidding competitions etc.)
* Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)
*Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.)
*Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
*Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
*Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
*Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
*Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Skills
*Precision machining experience is a must.
*Gov't bidding experience
*Familiarity with financial and project management principles
*in depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas
*Exquisite math ability with an analytical mindset
*Proficient in relevant software, Excel, Quick books, Word and Power Point.
*Job Boss a plus
*Ability to organize and prioritize diverse projects, task and activities for timely completion.
*Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
*Integrity this position requires appropriate handling of confidential, sensitive information, per AS9100/ISO 9001 requirements, as well as ITAR Controlled compliance requirements.

EXPERIENCE
Estimating & Manufacturing engineering: 2 years (Preferred)
Precision machining & fabrication: 5 years (Preferred)
REQUIREMENTS
Valid U.S. Person status (citizenship or Green Card)
