POSITION OVERVIEW

Western Forest Products has an exciting opportunity for an IT Systems Analyst (Infrastructure) based in Vancouver, WA.

What You'll Do: With the overarching objective of Defining a Higher Standard in networking and system changes, the IT Systems Analyst is responsible for delivering operational results that support the Company's safety, sustainability, production, and financial goals. The IT Systems Analyst is responsible for providing tier 3 support. Strong Windows System Administration skills will be required and the ability to work with, lead and mentor Tier 1 / 2 Support personnel will be a constant. Working closely with the rest of the Infrastructure team including other network specialists, system administrators, database administrators, desktop analysts, the IT Systems Analyst is an integral part of network upgrades, change planning, project implementation, process improvement, technical documentation, and operational tier 3 support.

Who You Are: Our ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience supporting organizations in the IT infrastructure space with a post secondary degree in Computer Science or a related field. You have excellent communication, customer support and problem solving abilities. You have experience providing tier 3 customer support and the ability to problem solve and implement solutions while maintaining the highest standards.

Our total rewards offering includes:

  • Salary range of $90,000 - $110,000 based on your skill level, qualifications, and experience.

Work Environment: This position will entail some travel. The IT Systems Analyst will provide support for both the Evergreen and Fruit Valley sites of our Columbia Vista Division as well as the occasional on-site support for our Arlington location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership
  • Work with, lead and mentor Tier 1 / 2 Support personnel.

Customer Support Services
  • Provide tier 3 support to employees;
  • Cloud Computing and MS Azure / Office 365 support;
  • Conducts wide area & LAN network administration;
  • Responsible for supporting windows server administration;
  • Supports system security controls;
  • Provide technical support on Windows server deployments and the Microsoft Suite of products;
  • Participates in firewall administration;
  • Participate and help plan and deliver major system changes;
  • Designs networks & systems;
  • Provide recommendations and research new technologies;
  • Identify areas for improvement for the company's networking, virtual infrastructure;
  • Support data communications;
  • Perform on site repairs to hardware as needed;
  • Evaluates technology and develops business cases; and
  • Participates in troubleshooting & diagnostics.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience
  • 5+ years' experience supporting in an enterprise IT Infrastructure space; and
  • Post-secondary education in computer science or a related discipline.

Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and very strong customer service skills and experience
  • Tier 3 customer support
  • Lead and mentor Tier 1 / 2 Desktop Support Personnel
  • Maintaining contact with external organizations for the maintenance, service and/or purchase of network equipment
  • Strong project management experience and proven problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience recommending, implementing and ensuring adherence to network, security and hardware configuration policies and standards
  • Evaluating relevant vendor products and recommending purchases consistent with short- and long-term objectives of the company
  • Exposure to Forestry or Industry Related experience is highly desirable.
  • Windows 2008-2019 Server deployment experience
  • Office 365 / Azure knowledge and implementation experience
  • Microsoft Active Directory (AD) expertise
  • Experience implementing one or more of the following Citrix, VMware, Firewalls, Routing, Microsoft products, etc.
  • Previous experience with Virtual Storage - VSAN, EqualLogic or NetApp etc.
  • Hyper converged infrastructure experience
  • Cisco Network Routing & VPN Connectivity Expertise
  • Firewall & Network Security Expertise

The following would be considered assets

A general understanding of:
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Production systems
  • Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Manufacturing modules within an ERP System
