Senior Pick Programmer

* O/S Exp - Red Hat Enterprise Linux
* Programming Exp - PICK (Must Be PICK )
* RDMS ~ UniVerse (preferred)
* Industry ~ prefer transportation
* Need Strong Cross-Functional Skills- Business Analysis and Project Management Skill Sets
* Create, Maintain, Upgrade Existing and New Programs

Current Need:

We have an opportunity for a seasoned professional to assist in the design, development, implementation, and support of our in-house freight forwarding system. The successful candidate will develop new interfaces, support and maintain existing code, document and QA changes. Candidate must have 4+ years of programming experience. Candidate will have a strong PICK and IBM UniVerse development background. PC support, Microsoft Office and Outlook required. Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Windows Server 2010 a plus.

Position Description:

Responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating programs for internal functional areas. Analyzes existing programs or formulates logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs coding, and tests/debugs programs. Develops conversion and system implementation plans. Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation. Recommends changes in development, maintenance, and system standards. Helps support PC network when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

4+ years experience in programming on enterprise or department servers or systems

Skills and Qualifications:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good with documentation and able to pay attention to details. Self managing, pro-active and able to work independently, good with time management, dependable, able and willing to be cross-trained for other departments when applicable with the operation.
