Job Description

We are bringing together a unique understanding of human biology with new ways to analyze health data. Our vision is to screen, diagnose, treat and prevent ocular and systemic diseases that will rapidly and effectively transform the lives of people everywhere - ensuring the right treatment for the right patient at the right time. To help support our imaging-based product development pipeline, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Ocular Disease Evaluator with Ophthalmic image grading expertise to join our Personalized Healthcare Ophthalmology team to work closely with annotation management, annotation platform and algorithm development subteams. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust ocular image grading protocols.
  • Evaluate digital ophthalmic images on a computer screen using various grading platforms.
  • Identifies and characterizes normal and pathological features of the retina and other ocular structures.
  • Contributes to quality improvement efforts by substantially assisting with revisions to grading and imaging protocols as assigned.
  • Contributes to the development of robust grading platforms by performing end-user testing. 
  • Imaging experience and proficiency with standard image formats (e.g. PNG, TIFF, DICOM, MHD) would be a plus.
  • Understands and adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures and protocols in the performance of job duties. 
  • Strong team player, flexible and with a high degree of self-organization, proactive and able to work in a matrix environment.

Desired Skills/Experience

  • BA or BS required; degree in Biological science or related field strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience evaluating Optical Coherence Tomography (OCTs) and other imaging modalities for retinal diseases preferred.
  • Familiarity with various ophthalmic image review software platforms.
  • Strong familiarity with using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and image editing programs such as MS Paint or MS Imaging.
  • Excellent cross-functional teamwork and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of medical image formats (e.g. DICOM) and proprietary ophthalmology image formats.
