Responsibilities

The International Business Development Manager (IBDM) reports directly to the Director, National Sales. The International Business Development Manager (IBDM) is accountable for developing and securing incremental revenue and market share through the targeted promotion and sales of EFW's International Services and products.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Models and acts in accordance with EFW guiding principles and core values.
  • Identify business opportunities and generate profitable sales in both new and existing accounts to meet and exceed new business revenue goals, within a defined, multi-state geographical territory.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of sales plans that support increased sales.
  • Conduct in person sales calls and build strategic relationships with key contacts within customer organizations to understand opportunities for creating value.
  • Capitalize on value creation opportunities by working closely with the sales and operations leadership team to develop creative workable solutions to customer needs.
  • Cross sell the company's suite of products and services in a team environment, with a focus/emphasis on International Freight Forwarding.
  • Monitor and review customer sales activity and make strategy adjustments as needed. Utilize the EFW CRM and maintain EFW expectations.
  • Conduct regular business reviews, usually monthly or quarterly with clients.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with clients and relevant operations staff to evaluate performance and receive updates from clients on challenges and future plans.
  • Work corroboratively with the operational staff at multiple sites and locations to ensure customers' needs and expectations are met.
  • Work collaboratively with Manager, Customer Strategy and Manager, Client Relationships and all implementation teams to ensure a great customer experience throughout the entire client journey.
  • Interpret and guide clients through international shipping regulations, terms and expectations in a consultative manner.
  • Assist in development and reporting of competitive market analysis.
  • Complete administrative functions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise and knowledge of products and services.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations.
  • Maintain minimum sales levels set as expectations for this role as laid out in EFW sales plan.
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum of Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 2-4 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions that require limited judgment. Ability to follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve routine problems.

Demonstrated sales success and knowledge of sales concepts, methods and techniques for the international freight forwarding industry.

Demonstrated knowledge of international shipping terms, regulations and processes.

Ability to work independently or in a team setting, in a fast paced environment.

Must be mentally and emotionally capable of handling a high stress environment.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.

Strong interpersonal skills (maturity, good judgment, diplomacy and patience) and strong consulting and presentation skills.

Demonstrated skills in organization group process, problem identification and resolution at both a strategic and functional level.

Cognizant of domestic and international regulatory compliance laws and regulations related to the supply chain and transportation industry.

Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.

Excellent spelling, grammar and written/ oral communication skills.

Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and set priorities.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check

Must be eligible to work in the United States.
