Software Tester

Quardev is seeking a Junior Software Tester for a contract role with our Tech-Ed client based in Irvine, CA. Core responsibilities in this role include manual testing of Math, Science, and/or Computer Science coursework content and software features, identifying defects, creating defect reports, reviewing and updating test cases when needed. Additionally, you will be drafting new test cases, work to become a domain knowledge expert, review automation reporting, and review design in order to anticipate problem in the software. The client is seeking recent grads with a Bachelor's in Math, Science or Computer Science with a GPA of 3.5 of better who has Math or Science tutoring experience. Note: This is a hybrid role, with the candidate working in the Irvine, CA office some of the time. Please include educational transcripts when applying for this role. Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, or Computer Science
• Experience drafting and running smoke, regression and functional test cases
• Must have strong understanding and experience with testing best practices
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow intricate instructions, with a strong attention to details
• Strong Mac, Tablet and PC knowledge and skills
• Comfortable working in a team environment as well as independently
• A desire to learn new testing methods and approaches
• Must have strong time management skills
• Knowledge of Agile project methodology
• Experience working as a Math, Science, or Computer Science tutor
• Ability to identify defect root causes and risk
• Knowledge and experience using Jira is strongly preferred
• Tech-Ed experience is a big bonus!
• For in person and onsite work, proof of Covid-19 vaccines is required
