QA Analyst (Automation)

Our client is a SW firm that develops rich and engaging web presences for their clients across automotive, gaming, and interactive industries. They are innovating several next generation web applications and beginning to offer mobile development services.

They want to hire a Quality Assurance Analyst to join their small team, highly collaborative team on a contract to hire basis. Reporting to project scrum masters, you will work very closely with expert software engineers on numerous applications.

Key to being successful in this role is first and foremost communication. You'll liaise between dev and product teams to ensure that the quality of the applications and software that the team delivers is of the highest caliber.

The primary focus of the QA Analyst will be to ensure timely and comprehensive testing of various applications, systems, and services. You will apply industry best practices while executing various types of QA and testing activities including functional, automated and performance testing in an Agile/Scrum environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·   Review requirements to define test cases for complex software projects

·   Develop strategic test plan and review with cross functional team members

·   Define and develop automated test scripts using Selenium test suite

·   Build and design a test automation framework, write automation test scripts

·   Create regression test suite

·   Create test result reports

·   Work with QA team to organize testing strategies and prioritize responsibilities

·   Perform appropriate testing to discover and report software defects and triage defects

·   Work with developers to troubleshoot software issues

·   Works closely with development, product management, and technical support to ensure that the quality objectives of all projects are met within schedule constraints

·   Provide testing metrics and reports for the QA dashboard to effectively communicate test status to the test team and management

·   Log and track issues using in a defect tracking system

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Previous experience as QA Analyst for large consumer or e-commerce website
• Experience with structured test methodologies
• Experience with Test Automation
• Experience with Jira preferred
• Experience with working in an Agile development environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong QA methodology and process experience
