MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree or the equivalent proven work experience in a related field.
- Excellent communication skills, to include excellent phone and written communication skills, as well as verbal communication skills. This includes the ability to communicate one-on-one, in groups, and for presentations.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed to further the workforce development mission.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent proven work experience in a related field.
- Experience in adult education, workforce development, or corporate training.
- Familiarity with customer relationship management platforms.
- Knowledge in manufacturing, childcare, transportation and/or healthcare industries preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant grant programs and funding sources for workforce development programming and student assistance.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Workforce Development, the Workforce Development Specialist will contribute to the establishment and development of corporate and community relationships. The Workforce Development Specialist will provide support to existing Workforce Development activities, assist in the development of non-credit and customized training programs for businesses, and play an active role in the recruitment of Workforce Development students. This position offers a chance to join a growing team that is dedicated to improving and investing in Workforce Development (WFD) programs. The Workforce Development Specialist will have the ability to make an immediate impact on regional workforce training and education.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Meet with corporate clients to determine their workforce development and training needs through discussions and assessments such as surveys, interviews, and document review.
- Actively identify and recruit students for Workforce Development programs.
- Attend community events as appropriate in collaboration with Community Engagement Specialist (CES) team. (Chamber events, fairs, festivals, etc.)
- Follow up on leads from various sources including CES referrals and online information requests.
- Collaborate with Community Engagement Specialists and Student Engagement Specialists (SES) to enhance Workforce Development student recruitment and advisement opportunities.
- Initiate cold calls to potential clients to provide awareness and knowledge of services and programs offered.
- Work collaboratively with other College departments, faculty, instructors, and staff to facilitate conversations and help provide solutions for Workforce Development needs.
- Assist in the development of non-credit and customized training programs for businesses.
- Interact with internal College staff to coordinate training sites, media services, promotional materials, and classroom set-up.
- Coordinate delivery of training and services on-site at client location and/or at NPRC WFD delivery locations.
- Assist Workforce Development Director, as requested, with the completion of WFD instructor agreements, scope of work, quotes, invoices, purchase orders and training contracts within the Workforce Development department.
- Enter and manage data into customer relationship management and student management systems.
- Serve on internal and external committees as requested.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and meetings as needed to further the workforce development mission.

- Valid Driver's License, proof of auto insurance and consistent access to a vehicle

- PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History Record Check
- Federal Criminal History Background Check
- Training Certificate - Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania

WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK SCHEDULE:
- Office Location: To be determined, locations throughout NPRC's multi-county footprint
- Work hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday thru Thursday, and 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Friday. This position requires work hour flexibility and varied hours, including evenings and weekends
- Notwithstanding the office hours, full-time salaried employees are expected to work 40 hours weekly
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent travel required
