 THE OPPORTUNITY

The Ideal Mobile Engineer

• You’ve done this before or worked on something very similar. Our client can’t take a lot of risk on this senior role so the expectation is high, but so is the reward. (They will be more flexible on future engineering hires, so keep an eye out for those roles if you feel they are better suited)
• You have several years in senior engineering roles at other startups, with hands-on experience in building frontend and backend scalable software solutions, and you're still happy to work on the tools yourself.
• You have experience leading and taking ownership of complex development projects, with the ability to break down requirements, accurately forecast timelines, and execute on deliverables.
• You possess an intricate understanding of data structures, design patterns, UX/UI fundamentals, debugging and troubleshooting.
• You convey strong leadership skills with the confidence to speak your mind, and an excellent ability to articulate your thoughts and opinions with the wider team.
• +5 years of engineering experience.

What are we looking for?

Our client's priority is to find the right fit Senior Software Engineer (Mobile) to join their product engineering team. There is room for growth and progression into a leadership position here.

The plan is to eventually double the size of their team to enhance their existing product and build out a whole new suite of tech products for the travel & tourism industry, with multiple engineers reporting directly to this new hire (keep an eye out for those roles too!).

• You work closely with your product and design teams to define and implement technical solutions for Vacaay's next-generation web & mobile applications with a core focus on exceptional user experience
• You ensure best practices for frontend and backend development, documentation, and project management and help determine the best solutions for complex problems
• You take an ambitious approach to prioritizing, building, and scaling new feature sets while ensuring stability, security and flexibility of our entire framework
• You coordinate cross-functionally to ensure projects meet business objectives and timelines
• You mentor and support other engineers, bring your ideas to the table and help the wider team operate as efficiently and effectively as possible
• You write the best code possible. Clean, high-quality, high-performance, and maintainable.
