Elaine Ellis Center of Health has an opportunity for an OB/GYN PHYSICIAN or Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) with OB experience to support our current staff in providing patient care at our DC and Maryland offices and provide coverage at area hospitals. A successful candidate will have 3-4 years of OB/GYN experience, be eligible for credentialing and privileging to provide OB/GYN care at local hospitals and be able to take after hours call. As an FQHC, we offer loan repayment through the National Health Services Corp, excellent benefits including 3 weeks of PTO, continuing education and a strong healthcare team environment. Candidates must have completed the COVID-19 vaccine series. Qualified candidates are eligible for a sign-on bonus!
Responsibilities:
· Care for and treat female patients during prenatal, natal and post-natal periods.
· Adhere to approved practice standards and protocols from the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and DC/Maryland Board of Medicine.
· Explain procedures and discuss test results and prescribed treatments with patients.
· Monitor patients’ condition and progress and re-evaluate treatments as needed.
· Prescribe or administer therapy, medication and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury.
· Analyze reports, examination findings and test results to diagnose medical conditions.
· Record and maintain patient information accurately and timely.
- Provide on-call and after hours coverage
-Communicate with and treat patients via telehealth, as appropriate
· Provide education to patients and community members in the specialized field of women’s health.
· Refer patients to other providers and specialists as appropriate.
· Consult with and provide consulting services to other providers.
· Participate in provider meetings and other Center meetings as needed.
· Adhere to the Uniform Data System (UDS) productivity standards.
· Participate in outreach and offsite programs as assigned.
· Attend and participate in teaching and general staff conferences.
· Continually update education, therapeutic techniques and methodology; apply new knowledge to your position.
· Perform other duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
