POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Analyst - Enterprise Reporting is a highly collaborative role, having a direct impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of our North American operations.  Working under the leadership of the Product Owner – Enterprise Reporting, the role of Senior Analyst entails maintaining business requirements gathering and workflow correspondence, design and delivery of reporting solutions, end-user production support, and collaborative partnering with the business owners. This is an exciting time for Neptune Retail Solutions as we continue to assess our current Enterprise Reporting potential in collaboration with internal stakeholders. We translate short and long term needs into an Enterprise Reporting Strategy that will help drive consistent gains in business cost efficiency and productivity for the long term.  Excellent communication skills will help develop and sustain a solid understanding of the business processes for which reporting solutions are being developed. The Senior Analyst will analyze business reporting processes and should be able to engage in dialogs on table structures, methodology, quality assurance, and other technical matters in pursuit of the delivery of system enhancements to the business.  The role will also coordinate with the Product Owner, business partners, and technical lead to ensure alignment and coverage for all necessary tests and testing.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a current knowledge of industry leading analytical reporting technologies with specific focus on tools employed by NRS. Apply knowledge and expertise to the design of reporting solutions.
  • Develop an understanding of business process flows and conduct analysis to identify reporting opportunities to drive efficiencies. Document and maintain business process flows.
  • Gather, synthesize and gain alignment for requirements from all sources. Quantify business requirements into clear and measurable deliverables with discernable end points.
  • Develop and strengthen business partnerships. Manage relationships and expectations though effective communications. Ensure all stakeholders remain current on system and project status.
  • Manage work intake plans, issue logs, meeting minutes, meeting schedules and related updates. Maintain awareness and alignment with Enterprise Reporting leadership at all times.
  • Create and maintain project plans and specifications, estimate time and resources, monitor milestone completion, providing timely reporting of issues, coordinate actions and resolving conflicts.
  • Adhere to NRS Agile policies and guidelines. Track active work, and backlog in Jira and participate in Agile ceremonies. Collaborate with Scrum Master to maximize efficiencies of work flow.
  • Leverage expertise and NRS business acumen for collaboration with the Product Owner to contribute to, and influence, the framework and execution of an Enterprise Reporting Strategy.
  • Although the role is analytical in nature, the Senior Analyst should be willing and able to tackle development tasks as needed in exception and high priority situations.
  • Collaborate with business functions to align on, and maintain, a common Data Dictionary of Key Performance Indicators. Strive towards role based reporting with org wide KPI consistency.
  • Drive business awareness of NRS Enterprise Reporting capabilities. Partner with the business on the crafting and delivery of training activities and materials to drive consistent understanding.
  • Quality assurance to ensure all processes are documented, Run Books and Run Schedules are in place and all application documentation is current, consistent and stored in a common location.
  • Collaborate with application/team leads to conduct gaps and synergies analysis across the reporting tiers. Remove redundancy and promote a “one version of the truth” environment.
  • Mentor, consult and provide guidance on best practices with internal Power Users who extract data directly, and/or reporting downloads, for the purposes of ad hoc reporting and distribution.
  • Communicate and coordinate with vendors and suppliers. 

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related IT field.
  • 7-10 years of experience as a solutions analyst, inclusive of at least three years in the delivery of Analytical Reporting solutions. Practical OLAP tools exposure is an asset.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Tableau, Business Objects and SQL. Working knowledge, Database Administration and ETL Tools is an asset.
  • Experience developing business solutions that leverage Analytical Reporting Tools to drive data consistency, assess performance, predict trends and enable effective decision making.
  • 2-3 years of experience with Office 365, including proficiency with Outlook, One Drive and MS Teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present and communicate ideas to peers and the business. Adapt to a style as needed for technical or non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional task and time management skills. Ability to capture work intake, set priorities, measure progress, report status and manage to targets.
  • Ability to collaborate and drive consensus to get the job done, while promoting a culture of teamwork, excellence, and integrity.
  • Experience with FP&A and modeling, with a sound understanding of financial KPIs and the preparation of standard financial reports. 
  • Experience with Excel data connections, Excel Pivot Tables, Excel macros and MS Access.
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods or marketing industries is a plus.
