Java Developer

We are seeking a Java developer interested in working in an agile XP/TDD methodology! This is an Extreme Programming (XP) environment where pairing is expected full-time and we follow test driven development (TDD), writing tests first, code second. You will be working on small product teams directly working with the business to deliver business outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

This is a remote position, that will be employed by our IT consulting client. This is an employed position. (Not a contract or 1099).

DESIRED SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

1. Ability to dive into a large polyglot codebase and contribute as you learn
2. Being okay with the uncomfortable feeling that comes from learning new things
3. Interest in exploring new programming paradigms, languages, and patterns
4. Demonstrable ability to research problems and break them into discrete parts
5. Have empathy with your pair and freely exchange feedback on a continual basis
6. BA/BS in Computer Science or related field
7. Comfortable with Test Driven Development (TDD)
8. Worked in a pair programming environment
9. Contributed to an open source project
10. Experience with log analysis, streaming data, streaming metrics
11. Experience with metric analysis and visualization
12. Comfortable working on small teams delivering fast paced business outcomes iteratively.

TECHNICAL AREA EXPERIENCE

1. Worked with large Java codebases
2. Spring / Sprint Boot
3. Vue javascript library or similar javascript library
4. Cloud technology: Pivotal Cloud Foundry/Tanzu or similar cloud technology (MS Azure, AWS)
5. API management and delivery
6. Testing frameworks
7. IntelliJ
8. GitHub
9. Mac fluent
