Job Description

The Regional Director of Billing Services is responsible for the success of multiple billing locations to include operations, staffing and leadership. The Regional Director of Billing Services collaborates directly with the site managers, employees, client owners and providers. Their decisions and actions have a significant impact on employee satisfaction, customer satisfaction and profitability. The individual in this position will make independent decisions. Work is generally performed under limited supervision. Ownership of defined responsibilities, documenting processes and procedures, and team leadership are key requirements for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor, manage and support the Managers to execute consistent excellent service to WebPT Members. Supporting and contributing to process changes within all locations as our growth and industry changes demand.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor processes and procedures to ensure the consistent delivery of quality billing services to clients in an efficient and cost effective manner and consistency in the processes within all locations.
  • Work with the management team to establish A/R performance metrics and monitoring and reporting on performance against established metrics.
  • Identify trends and issues impacting billing efficiency and performance.
  • Ability to proactively identify and implement resolution to an issue prior to impacting a client.
  • Provide feedback to managers and working collaboratively with larger or newly implemented clients.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of client information is maintained and that HIPAA regulations are followed.
  • Communicate regularly with corporate management, claims management, customer implementation, sales staff, support, and product to collaborate and continue to drive process improvement.
  • Assist Sales with meetings and host site visits for prospective clients who choose to visit our Regional Billing Centers
  • Ad hoc projects, as requested

Skills and Qualifications

Abilities and Knowledge

  • Process and Results Focused. Ability to mentor, manage and change as the business changes and grows.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting documents and other information related to insurance billing and collections, including, fee schedules, provider numbers, provider status, Medicare and other federal regulations, EOBs, payer contracts, authorization & insurance eligibility.
  • Ability to understand and manage within Budget Goals
  • Exceptional customer facing written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to interact effectively with a variety of external and internal constituents.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, and to recognize and resolve ambiguous or conflicting objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly interdependent team environment.
  • Must be willing to learn and take on new challenges in a fast paced environment

Education and Experience

Required:

  • 10+ years’ experience and demonstrated success managing medical billing and accounts receivable in a high volume environment.
  • Strong hands on knowledge of all aspects of medical billing including commercial payer, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers’ compensation and patient responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience managing medical billing teams of 5 to 20 people
  • Proficiency with standard office software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred:

  • BA in a related field or comparable experience.
  • Experience with billing for Physical Therapy and/or Orthopedic medical practices
