Job Description

Position Summary
EBI is seeking a full-time Senior Architectural Historian to conduct reviews and help maintain the quality and accuracy of our Section 106 consultation submissions. The successful candidate will have strong technical report writing skills, attention to detail and the ability to leverage prior experience conducting field survey, developing well-supported determinations of eligibility and assessments of effect to complete QA/QC reviews on report deliverables by our staff. Prior working experience in the Section 106 regulatory process and direct experience in preparing Section 106 compliance documents is required. The position is office-based or home office-based and typically involves little field time.

Job Requirements

Complete the QA/QC Review of reports and submissions prior to final delivery
Provide technical direction on projects
Assist with proposal writing for cultural resources services
Occasionally complete historic property research at the State Historic Preservation Offices or on their online databases, conduct field survey to document historic properties and assess project effects, and prepare Section 106 and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reports
Simultaneously manage electronic deliverables on many ongoing projects, as well as complete assignments on-time and within budget
Very occasionally, travel on short notice (one week or less) will be required.

Education and Experience

Master of Arts in Historic Preservation or Architectural History, required

Certifications and Licenses

Candidates must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualifications Standards for Architectural Historian.
