The Survivor Training & Learning Fellow position is a full-time, non-exempt position within Cast's Learning Hub. The Survivor Training & Learning Fellow will work with Cast's emerging Learning Hub to connect practice with policy through delivering training and fostering learning within the human trafficking movement. Working alongside the Training Director and Training Specialist, the Survivor Training & Learning Fellow will support a training program in LA county, focused on commercially sexually exploited children (CSEC) and human trafficking, and the development of new curriculum and training materials.

In addition, the Fellow will work with the Associate Director of Survivor Advocacy and Research & Data Analyst to convene learning workshops and briefing notes, all aimed to deepen learning within human trafficking movement.

This position requires thorough knowledge and understanding of a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, human rights, strengths-based approach in working with survivors of human trafficking. Cast is searching for a candidate who can continue our commitment to the public health model of anti-trafficking work. We envision a leader with lived experience who can prioritize multi-disciplinary collaboration and center the voices of survivors in this movement.

GENERAL DUTIES:

TRAINING:

• Co-facilitate various trainings, assist with the development, coordination, and implementation of curriculums, trainings, conferences, and events.
• Support recordkeeping of all trainings and evaluations
• Adapt trainings based on feedback from evaluations
• Work with the Training team to identify, select, tailor the appropriate training curriculum for type of organization receiving the training
• Administer all related paperwork, including registrations and evaluations
• Other duties assigned by the Training Director and Training Specialist

LEARNING:

• Conduct research and analysis of Cast service data and other sources
• Convene thematic learning workshops for service providers, survivor leaders, and policy makers, in coordination with the Research & Data Analyst
• Draft briefing notes, in coordination with the Research & Data Analyst
• Convene learning workshops with Cast programs, policy and Learning Hub staff to identify recommendations for stronger service and policy outcomes
• Other duties assigned by the Associate Director of Survivor Advocacy

REQUIREMENTS:

• Lived experience of sex and/or labor trafficking. Cast aligns itself with the "United States Federal Definition of Human Trafficking" as defined in the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA). To read the full definition, please click

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience training on CSEC and/or human trafficking

• Demonstrated sensitivity to and knowledge of issues involved in working with diverse populations and organizations;
• Possesses knowledge of and puts into practice common responses to trauma and trauma-informed care
• Ability to work independently and able to meet deadlines
• Experience in working on multi-disciplinary teams
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including facilitation and conflict resolution;
• Ability to operate computer systems, including Internet, email, databases, and word processing software (Microsoft Office Suite).
• Experience with event coordination (e.g. creating flyers and event announcements)
• Organized, detailed, flexible, and able to multi-task to identify and respond to shifting priorities;
• Ability to maintain a cooperative and professional demeanor with clients, Cast staff, agency staff/board, vendors, consultants, allied professionals, donors, and members of the public
• Accept and abide by the mission and philosophy of Cast
